maximum time to see results from liposuction

I had liposuction in my flanks and abdomen area four months ago. I’m went in for a follow up and the doctor told me that the results can take up to another six months. It looks like the average in the country is four months for maximum results. Can you please weigh in on your opinion about this? Thank you.

Procedure: Liposuction
Location: Gonzales, LA

Dear Lynn,

You have gone through a process that has resulted in you having enough trust in a plastic surgeon to allow him/her to perform surgery on you. Ask yourself, Is there a reason to now distrust my surgeon? If the answer is "no," then continue to trust your surgeon.

Some patients can take up to a year to achieve maximum results. The outcome also varies based on surgical technique, whether skin tightening was done, whether or not this is revision liposuction, postoperative lymphatic massage, your weight management after surgery, compression garment use, diet and exercise. There is no hard and fast number of months for maximum results as each patient's tissues are different as well as the aforementioned factors. Good luck!

There are many things that can influence the results. Like your doctor said, it may take another 6 months to achieve the ultimate result.. If you gain a lot of weight during this time the results may be worse than expected. Drs. Francis and Kalaria gave you excellent answers.
