Hello. My wife had life-saving surgery when she was born on her abdomen, resulting in a very serious scar. She has also had subsequent surgery (bowel resection) in which they were not able to do laparoscopically. Suffice it to say, her scar is very intense and it has made her self conscious her entire life. Who would be the best surgeon in the field to discuss this with, if even possible.Thank

It was difficult to provide advice without knowing more about that type of surgery that was performed and being able to see the size, direction and location of the scar. However,, the correct doctor for this procedure would be board-certified plastic surgeon. If it is a complication of previous surgery, sometimes the procedure can be covered by health insurance.
