Hello, I would like to ask if the breast augmentation process for MTF patients is radically different than that which is performed on cis-women? I am finding that a number of plastic surgeons are refusing to accept me as a patient and stating that it's a 'specialized' procedure. Nothing I have researched suggests this to be the case. I am interested in understanding what the real facts are.
Inherently, it’s not very different. MTF usually have a wider chest and stronger muscle but it’s basically the same operation.
There are some subtle differences but essential the same operation as a breast augmentation on a cis female.
I am in a NJ on the jersey shore and will he happy to see you for a consult
The procedure is essentially for breast augmentation in MTF gender transition. The skin may be tighter in general possibly not allowing for as large an augmentation and there is sometimes a less defined crease. The gender reassignment process may itself be specialized, but the breast augmentation is not. Good luck!
The procedure is basically the same for a cis female or MTF patients. There may be some minor differences but that is true eve on cis females.
The procedure is the same and there are minor differences according to how much skin, tissue, shape, muscle, etc. Any plastic surgeon can do it but some might not want to do it ant that is their prerogative. Should be plenty of surgeons close to you that may do it, start calling and find the right one
In Thailand we do a lot of MTF sex reassignment surgery and also a lot of breast implantation in MTF too. The operation is basically not much different from real women.
