This is the field of the so-called Bariatric Surgeons, which really are General surgeons, with the special aim of helping obese patients in reducing weight with surgeries altering the gástric or/and intestinal flux or physiology. So if you happen to be an obese patient, you should research for a Bariatric Surgeon or General surgeon with bariatric expertise in your area
