Areola stretched after 5weeks PO

Hi. Is it normal for areola to stretch after breast lift/breast augmentation? My left areola is bow bigger than my right after a spitting stitch. Photo included here. I’m not sure if it should happen because after surgery my areola has gotten smaller after surgery, now my left one is kind of back to its original shape. I also included my pre operative photo. Thanks for the answers!

Procedure: Breast Augmentation
Location: south san francisco, CA

There are procedures to decrease the size of the areola. However it is much safer and logical to wait around six months before any revision surgery.

Your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon would be able to do the revision surgery.

Dear Angelika,

Your areolae do appear asymmetric. However, it is too early in your recovery/healing process to consider revision. Continue follow up with your plastic surgeon to determine the correct time for a revision. Plan on about 6 months. Good luck!

5 weeks postop is way too early for the final result. We usually tell patients to give us at least 6 months before final results. That being said, nipple/areolar asymmetry can occur after breast lift/aug, particularly when there is asymmetry preop. We as board certified plastic surgeons do our best to symmetrize everything but it is difficult to achieve perfect symmetry. There is a common phrase we use "breasts are sisters not twins." After 6 months, if asymmetry remains, there are procedures to improve the symmetry. Hope that helps.

From your given photo, your left areola bigger than right side. Please wait for 6 months for the real result if still asymmetry you can revise areola reduction for more symmetrical size and shape.
