Hello, I had a breast reduction around 6 years ago. It was Inverted T and periareolar. No fat was removed- just breast. Around 800gr in total. I would love to know the probably I have to breastfeed.
Thank you!
Studies show 60% of women can successfully breast feed after breast reduction surgery as long as the surgery did not involve cutting off and reattaching the nipple.
Dear Amanda,
The likelihood of you being able to breast feed is pretty high after inverted T breast reduction. Good luck!
Breast lift and/or reduction is a procedure that can potentially adversely affect breastfeeding later on. This is an issue that we discuss extensively with our patients prior to undergoing the procedure. Typically we advise patients to finish child-bearing before undergoing this procedure, as the probability of future breastfeeding is really unpredictable.
