Records

I’m trying to find Dr. Backstein who did my breast implants in 2001. He worked In Yorkville Toronto. It’s out of business. When I google him, I get a number but call and his mailbox is full. The 1-866 number is not in service. I google Steele’s Avenue Cosmetic Surgery, I find him but the website can’t be found. I need my records if he still has them,ut can’t seem to get in touch. suggestions?

I suggest that you request your records from the hospital or surgery center where you had your procedure. You will likely be able to obtain some of the records this way, and may get a lead regarding how to locate the remaining records.

In the US, laws require physicians to keep patient medical records for 7 years. It is unlikely that you would find your records even if you locate your previous physician. Any board certified plastic surgeon should be able to assist you with whatever concerns you have.

I am sorry to hear of your difficulties in finding your surgeon. Depending on the information you are trying to find you may be able to contact the operating facility. Hope this helps.
