Bit by dog on breast, breast augmentation 7 years ago

My dog bit my breast. I had breast augmentation 7 years ago. The bite is not deep but I'm worried about my implant. The skin has a bite mark and it's turning black and blue. How do I know if the implant is ok? Thanks!

Procedure: Breast Augmentation
Location: Hixton, WI

Hello, first of all it is to make sure that you do not have an infected wound, which according to the image would seem to be not. Current implants have a high resistance to pressure, so it is very difficult to break them. And the most appropriate way to evaluate them is firstly clinical (a certified plastic surgeon must evaluate you), secondly by Images, Breast Ultrasound, performed by someone with experience, or a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of Breasts. Both studies must be requested and evaluated by the certified plastic surgeon you have consulted.

Hi, is this scar 7 years old?

I think you should have some blood examination in order to rule out changes compatibles with an inflamatory-infection process. If so, you should consult an infectious specialist. Also an ultrasound in order to look for fluid accumulation around the implant.

Hope this helps a little.

That is a significant injury based on the picture posted, to have that amount of skin abrasion and bruising.

Your best option is to see your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for examination, evaluation of the trauma, and implant as soon as possible. Do not want to wait for infection of the wound. Your surgeon may elect to put you on the proper antibiotics.
