7 months post op will this ever go away?

Because I lost a lot of weight I ended up having a panniculectomy . As a result all is well except for the seroma in left side of belly and these dog ears. Will this ever go down?

Procedure: Panniculectomy
Location: Austin, TX

Hello! In general terms, it is a surgery that usually requires touch-ups or interventions to achieve the best possible result. Because the tissue adjusts to changes in weight, new physical and eating habits, if any, and the post-surgery inflammation process. Unfortunately, given the time that has elapsed, it is likely that this will not reduce. I suggest you go back to your plastic surgeon to discuss a revision.

Seroma is a known risk, I am sure your plastic surgeon have discussed that possibility.

As for the dog ears, it is treated with liposuction and excision of the excess skin which will make the incision longer and around the hips and may require further to the back.

Your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon can deal with the seroma and the dog ears.
