Very good question. Pectoral implants can be used to reconstruct the breast but this all depends on whether a surgeon is reconstructing a male or female chest. Pectoral implants are more common in males; whereas breast implants may help reconstruct female breasts. A good technique is also to use autologous fat to the chest wall.
