Chin Implant - Does 1.5mm make a difference?

Hi everyone,

I currently have a 6.5mm MPJC that I’m changing out.

It’s a little low on the mandible so I’m getting about 5.5mm of horizontal projection currently.

I’m torn between simply sizing up to the 8mm MPJC or the 7.5mm EAC. In all honesty, would such small increments even make difference? I think the XL EAC would add some width which I like but it hard to tell simply by the numbers. Thanks!

Wonderful question. There is a factoral difference between implant size and how much it translates to actual dimensional projection behind your skin. It all depends on the thickness and function of the mentalis muscle and skin. I would consider very meticulous biometric analysis of the chin area before a surgeon can give you a dimensional estimate of future results.

Best,

Good question but need to combine with youe physical examination to evaluate your skin and muscle thickness to answer this question.
