10 days post op and bellybutton is slightly red, crusty and leaking a little pus/fluid

Hi,

I’m ten days post op from a tummy tuck and my belly button is slightly red, a little dark red crust and leaking slightly pus/fluid (not a lot at all). There’s no pain, I don’t have a fever or anything. Just wondering if this is normal? My medical assistant suggested I ask my GP for antibiotics as it looks like a superficial infection from me not drying it properly etc. I’m highly worried.

Procedure: Tummy Tuck
Location: Huddersfield, NT - United Kingdom

You need to see your surgeon ASAP. there is purulent discharge that needs to be cultured. and treat the infection based on findings on physical examination by the surgeon.

Does not look like any big deal at this time but it could become one if not properly treated. Sometimes a would takes longer than we want to heal and it ends up without any problems. You do not need the advice from any medical assistant or "GP. You need to see your surgeon right away and follow their advice.

It is inflammation reaction and infection. Please go to visit your surgeon again for recieved IV or oral antibiotic and wound dressing to cure this infection.
