Botched?

I had liposuction and after 6 months of healing I have a very uneven “S” shaped profile. I went in to discuss a revision with the doc and he gave me no options aside from a tummy tuck. I don’t have sagging or extra skin so I was SHOCKED! Help! I need answers for why I am being told I could’ve never received a flat smooth tummy after spending $8,000! I wish I could submit pictures here

Procedure: Liposuction
Location: peoria, IL

I perform hundreds of Liposuction cases a year. There are many variables want it comes to the final result. Patients have varying degrees of skin laxity. Without seeing you in person it is difficult to say what could be achieved. Many times the issue you mention is a result of skin laxity and this requires skin excision.

beckys1111,

That is an unfortunate outcome but not that uncommon. Consider obtaining a copy of your operative note from your surgeon & your pre-operative photo’s. Take these materials to an ASPS member in your area that specializes in correcting cosmetic surgery. This data & an examination would be required to address your concerns. A second or third option may be very educational & informative. Best,

I am sorry that your results have not been what you anticipated. Unfortunately without an in-person examination and/or full series of before and current day photos it is difficult to offer advice or reassurance. I would recommend seeing a series of ASPS board certified plastic surgeons in consultation to discuss your revision options. Best wishes.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

Hi.

I feel that your expectations were very superior with respect to the result obtained after your surgery. I would like to know if you have had children or if you were overweight before your surgery.
