7 weeks post partum from c section

I am 7 weeks post partum from my 3rd c section and I've had my tubes tied during the procedure. Is there a waiting period before I can go get a tummy tuck since I just had a surgery or can I go any time ?

Procedure: Tummy Tuck

I recommend to my patients to wait at least six months or at least until they’ve lost all the weight that they gained during pregnancy. It is also best to stop breast-feeding.

Naralynn,

Consider a Tummy Tuck when you are at least 6 months postpartum and near your pre-pregnancy weight. It wise to make sure you are done having children?? Best,

Hi. The standard recommendation is to wait 6 months after delivering a baby, prior to having a tummy tuck. Try to get back to your pre-pregnancy target weight, for an optimal result.

All the best,

Best to wait at least 6 months after delivery for any body contouring procedure. Hope this helps.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. In general, I recommend that patients wait for their weight and body shape to stabilize first, and then wait at least 3 months before having a tummy tuck after pregnancy. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!
