Why doesn't the doctor give true explanation of recovery time what to expect?

I see many posts about recovery from a face and neck lift, but why do most doctors minimize the recovery? My Doctor told me I would have some swelling, bruising, and tightness which is true. I am 7 weeks postop my neck still feels like a 2 " wide band was sewed in my neck from side to side. My ears are numb and feel like hard rubber. The back of my head feels like I am wearing a tight hat.

Procedure: Facelift

Healing after surgery varies from person to person and the extent of surgery. So is the swelling which varies and some people swell more than others and may take longer time to resolve. Bruising in a facelift takes around three weeks, like any bruise one gets from trauma. These issues are personal and and your doctor cannot predict that, he/she can tell you the average time of healing. Your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and and DOCTORS will give you the TRUE EXPLANATION. Medicine is an art and a science.

Swelling and numb after surgery is possible and the healing process is up to each patient condition but normally 8-12 months for full recovery.
