T junction breakdown not healing

I had a breas lift + 360cc implants 5 weeks ago, and about 1,5 weeks ago I noticed a small hole under the breast. It is now getting bigger by the day. My surgeon keeps telling me they are healing fine but it doesn’t seem normal to have a hole in my breast that doesn’t seem to be getting any smaller. I clean it with antiseptic spray and then apply betadine and change the dressing twice a day.

Procedure: Breast Lift
Location: alabama, AB

The photos show clean, healthy appearing tissue just below the skin level. Repeated use of antiseptics such as betadine can actually prevent a wound from healing. Talk to your plastic surgeon. You may want to consider a hydrocoloid dressing or something as simple as Vaseline.

First of all, this is very common. Probably stop swapping it with an antiseptic and betadyne. Although those kill bacteria, they also kill cells that aid in healing. A. Saline gauze packing might be the best for now or antibiotic ointment. Quite often. It doesn't do much for a couple weeks and then abruptly closes. Things to watch for are increased redness or increasing drainage and then let your surgeon know.

This is a common problem with the kind of surgery you had. I don't see anything wrong with using Betadine. I prefer to use soap and water with a Silvadene dressing but that is just me. Follow the instructions of your surgeon. These things can take a lot of time to completely heal and just when you think they will not heal, it closes real fast. It should not be a problem unless the implant is exposed or the wound just keeps enlarging fast. One thing to consider if this happens is the use of a vacuum dressing such as a PICO. Again, if your surgeon is an ABPS certified or eligible surgeon, follow his or her instructions.

Keep the wound moist and increase your protein intake. Continue to follow your surgeon's advice and keep the wound out of the sun. Good luck!
