Is 45 a good age for my first procedure?

I’m a 45 yo female who was recently asked if I’ve ever considered lipo for my neck. I thought I was just fat but also age.

I am thinking if a lower lift including a neck lift with lower/upper bleph would be an option that would offer results without a overdone appearance.

Procedure: Facelift
Location: Chicago, IL

Dear Lady:

At a initial commentary, I’d say: Not at all! Your age is perfectly within usual rank for these plastic surgeries; on a second thought, I’d say to you: if your BMI , blood sugar, blood pressure at rest and at exercising, along with a healthy record, and if you walk daily and have a not so much stressful lifestyle, you should bea good candidate. Look for a certified PS in your area

45 may be an OK time for a face lift but for many patients, neck lipo with nonsurgical skin tightening may be a better option with lower cost and less downtime (and can be done awake). An in person evaluation is the best way to find out. The eye lids can be assessed also.

You need to be seen in person to determine what would be appropriate for you. I have treated many women your age using different techniques based upon their different needs.

45 is definitely not too early to begin thinking about facial rejuvenation. There are so many options available now in both non-invasive and surgical treatment.ms. It’s best to see a plastic surgeon to discuss your desires and see what the best treatment plan would be. Good luck.

Fabulous Question! Everyone has their own genetic background, history of sun exposure, smoking history, and weight gain/loss that drive your actual appearance. Early facial rejuvenation occurs as early as 40 and is very common by 47 - 50.

One should be seen by a board certified Plastic Surgeon for an evaluation and discussion of your goals and create a long term rejuvenation plan.

Look at photos of the surgeon's work to see if his/her artistic work and results suits your eye.

Many women start noticing aging changes in their mid-40's. Improving these may involve some eyelid work, or some face or neck work. But without meeting you or seeing photos, it's hard to make any sort of procedural recommendations. Best to discuss in person with your local board-certified plastic surgeon.

Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately without a series of photographs it is difficult to offer advice - Kybella, liposuction, neck lift - are all viable options to improve upon your current appearance. Seek out a series of ASPS board certified plastic surgeons in consultation to discuss your options.

Hello and thank you for your question. You are certainly in the right age range for a neck lift and/or eyelid surgery but having a thorough evaluation with a board certified plastic surgeon is important to define your goals for both results, recovery, and cost. Collaborating with a plastic surgeon who understands your wishes for a natural look should be a priority. Best of luck!

It is hard to say what you would be a candidate for without seeing your photos. I do a lot of the procedures you mention under a local anesthetic.

This is an age appropriate question.

Meet with a board certified plastic surgeon and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or locate one on their Match section.

There are numerous options that can help you achieve your goals which will be dilineated at the time of your consultation. For example liposuction removes fat, lifts do as well and then remove excess skin, and non surgical treatments can also improve appearance. Your options will be based on factors such as your anatomy, your medical status and tolerance for things like downtime and risks.

Consequently it is best to reconcile your anatomy and goals with the appropriate procedure, in conjunction with your consultation with a plastic surgeon who has the ability to offer the range of options that are in your best interest.

Hi. This do not depend on age alone but on your condition. In my practice is common to combine a Third Lower Facelift with Blepharoplasty. An evaluation is needed to cofirm your candidacy for the procedure.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. 45 years old is not too young to consider a neck lift or rejuvenation procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!
