Mastectomy scar for oncoplastic lumpectomy?

Is it normal to get a visible mastectomy scar on one breast for a palpable lumpectomy and a lollipop scar on the other breast lumpectomy instead of the wise incisions and breast reconstruction and reduction to matcha agreed for oncoplastic breast reduction? And be a larger cup size than before? Also one breast has top and forward projection and the other one is boxy. Mortified and in pain

Procedure: Breast Reconstruction
Location: all cities, FL

There is very little information regarding your specific condition, location of the breast masses and biopsy results. Breast size, sentinel lymph nodes?

You need to discuss all your concerns with your surgeon.

There is not enough information here as to what surgery you had, for what reason or what the problem is. Please discuss this with your surgeon.

Hi there,

These are important questions. It sounds like you have done your homework on oncoplastic breast reconstruction. It also sounds like you just had surgery. Usually, time is the most important factor to improving early post-operative appearance. As far as different approaches for your different breasts, this choice could be a result of the tumor or because of preoperative differences in your breasts. In short, all of this could be perfectly normal.

At this time, I would recommend discussing these concerns with your board-certified plastic surgeon.

Wishing you well in your recovery!
