Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Thread lifting is a relatively non-invasive procedure, and should have an exceptionally low infection rate. That being said, some minor skin irritation at the skin puncture sites can occur. Signs of infection include, but are not limited to: redness; warmth; swelling; tenderness; and drainage. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your question. Although a low infection rate, threads may produce the classic signs of infection: spreading redness, increased tissue swelling, purulent drainage, elevated skin temperature, overall fevers, chills, and general malaise. If you have a concern, return to your treatment provider and discuss.

An infection usually occure about the 5-7th day but could occur at any time. If you haveredness, fever, swelling, then you should go back to your plastic surgeon rigfht away!
