tummy tuck and lift

Does separating lower body lift from TT give better results? I was told to have extended tummy tuck and then have lower body lift in a second surgery. It was explained there is vertical pull down for a TT and then opposite side for hip/butt/thigh lift and results in stomach not being as flat. Its hard to navigate when consults are so different.

Procedure: Body Contouring
Location: billerica, MA

In most cases, a lower body lift ( a continuation of the tummy tuck) is done at the same time. Perhaps there is a misunderstanding in what you are having done?

I generally perform the 2 procedures together as I can get a more balanced a harmonious result. It also is just one downtime/recovery. one exposure to anesthesia, and less expensive.

Patients with larger amounts of excess skin may need 2 stages however.

That is incorrect. Doing then together on the front of the body gives a better result. The issue is the back of the body which depending on the surgeon and the patient may be better performed at a second surgery.

No, it does not give better results. Most surgeons including myself, will perform these procedures together. However, if a surgeon does not have experience, or cannot accomplish both within a reasonable number of hours they may opt to separate the procedures.

Assuming that you would benefit from both procedures I would do them at the same time if that is what you want. consult with an ABPS certified or eligible surgeon close to where you live.

Thank you for your question regarding what is the difference between smartLipo and air sculpting. Basically, there is not much difference between air sculpting and smartLipo.

During air sculpting and smartLipo, a cannula is inserted. Basically, a cannula is a sterile, stainless steel medical straw. This straw is moved back-and-forth under the skin to remove fat. During the procedure, a laser is applied within the cannula. The laser energy helps to melt the fat and stimulate collagen production. Also, the thermal qualities of the laser are thought to help tighten the skin.
