I have a friend who has struggled for a long time with her health. She had colon surgery and the side effect she had was a stomach disfigurement-huge side bulk bigger than a basket ball on the side of her stomach. She has continuously suffered health complications. She gain a ridiculous amount of weight-over 500 lbs. She needs a miracle. Any pro bono doctor willing to help her gain her life back?

Procedure: Body Lift
Location: Berwyn, IL

Sorry to hear that your friend has had all of these issues. Without examining the patient, it is really not possible to figure out what is going on. However, based on your description of a huge bulk on the side, there must be an evaluation and make sure there is no hernia. In addition, with the weight of over 500 pounds, any type of surgical procedure carries a significantly increased risk of complications.

The first step should be to be evaluated by a general surgeon to evaluate for the hernia. And possibly a bariatric surgeon to see if you were friend is a candidate for bariatric surgery prior to a plastic surgery evaluation.

Best wishes to your friend

The problem is the weight and this is not corrected with surgery. The patient needs an evaluation by the regular doctor for help in reducing weight and possibly a referral to a bariatric surgeon for help in weight reduction
