Am I bottoming out ?

Few weeks after my breast augmentation (below muscle), my implants initially sat above the inframammary incision. Now, 8 weeks post-op, implants seem to have shifted below the incision. Initially, the nipple - inframammary fold distance was 7cm, but now it's 8.8cm (right) and 9.4cm (left).

Is this normal settling of the implants or a sign of bottoming out/ displacement that can worsen with time?

Procedure: Breast Augmentation

Without pictures, it's hard to give you an answer, but given what you've written, it sounds like it could be bottoming out. Hopefully, you have been able to discuss it with your surgeon.

As was mentioned by another surgeon, it is hard to say without photos. However, if you are having bottoming out of breast implants, there are solutions . In my own practice, I use Durasorb® or Galaflex® for soft tissue internal bra support. This helps especially when the patient has had bottoming out of implants, or has large implants which exert more pressure on the breast tissue.

Hope this helps.
