Hey there! I honestly don't know what size i am, i know a 36 N is too small, i also have tricare so i believe a breast reduction will be covered. I wanted to know if it was possible to have the extra fat transferred to another part of my body? What is the lowest size i can reduce to? Can lipo be done on certain parts of my body due to the reduction? Thank You !!

Your insurance carrier, TriCare, will require a referral to get to a TriCare provider for a Breast Reduction. Consider contacting the TriCare Representative in your area to determine how you get a referral & what doctors are in your network of providers. These providers can answer your questions about a breast reduction following an examination. Your insurance carrier will most likely not cover cosmetic procedures like Fat Grafting or Liposuction. Often when these aesthetic procedures are done at the time of insured procedure the insurance carrier does not cover/ pay for the medically necessary surgery. Best,

The breast tissue is removed as blocks of tissue, and is generally not fit for transfer to another area of the body. As part of the reduction, liposuction is performed on the sides of the breast and the flank. This tissue can be used to graft other areas. Since this is being covered by insurance, the case billing would have to be broken into a medical (breast reduction) and cosmetic (fat grafting) component. Insurance would be billed for the reduction, and the fat grafting would be your financial responsibility. Generally regarding size, the breast is reduced to C-D cup. It depends in your frame.
We would submit your claim for a breast reduction. Yes, you could have lipo done on different areas and then you could have a BBL or transferred to your hips but these would not be covered by your insurance.

Hi Gabby, it sounds like you are a good candidate for a breast reduction. The size you can get down to depends on your anatomy, but you should be able to reduce your breasts to at least half their size or more. I would not recommend transferring fat or tissue from the breasts to another area of the body. Liposuction can be combined with breast reduction sometimes but it will be up to the surgeon's judgment. The breast reduction may take 4-5 hours. Breast reductions truly change women's lives.
Thank you for sharing your question. You could have both a breast reduction and fat transfer performed but while the former could be covered by Tricare, the latter will not. Depending on your current breast appearanace you may be able to get to a C-D cup size. Hope this helps
