Hello all. I’m a man who has had inverted nipples for years and wants to get rid of them. How do I find a surgeon who will do that procedure only, because it seems that that is a surgery geared mostly for women and mostly follow breast augmentation which I don’t need. There is no “inverted nipple” tab so does this procedure fall under breast augmentation? And in your experience what is the cost?
Thank you for your question. Inverted nipple surgery is a common surgery that most plastic surgeons perform. Your first step is to make sure the surgeon you are going to go see is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. I would call the surgeon's office to see if they perform this procedure prior to going in for a consult.
Nipple reconstruction to treat inverted nipples is possible under local anesthesia as a sole procedure. Photos would be useful in order to further advise on the costs for the procedure, but cost is usually not over $1,200 USD total for both sides.
This has nothing to do with breast augmentation. Inverted nipples is a common thing. Most of the cases are in women because most men do not care one way or another for this. The cost depends on where you live but most likely is not going to be extravagant. This can be done by any ABPS certified or eligible plastic surgeon and there should be many close to you. You just need to make an appointment for consultation with any one of them.
