I really want to get breast augmentation and reading that since I have Hashimoto I am not a good candidate. Could someone explain why specifically Hashimoto’s and does it change things if I take thyroid meds and have a good diet to control it? And if the answer is no would fat transfer be an option?
Hello. Do not worry. Having Hashimoto's is definitely NOT a contraindication for breast augmentation. If you have good diet and control of Hashimoto, you can safely get your Breast Augmentaiton as soon as you wish. Ovbiously we would scree for the current Hormone levels as part of your pre-op labwork, but if all is OK, then you are ready to achieve your goals.
As long as your disease is controlled, you should be able to get an augmentation. The doctor that is managing your hashiimoto's should be aware of this however. To my knowledge, there is no established link between hashimoto's being made worse with breast implants. Please make you consult with a plastic surgeon that is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery
Best wishes.
After treatment of your Hashimotos and control of the thyroid there is no reason why you could not get a BAM
