The skin above my eyes are effecting my vision. How do I select a doctor who is well experienced?
Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with a great reputation is best. Feel free to email me photos : drcaloca@drcaloca.com
Thank you for your question. A surgeon board certified by the American Board Of Plastic Surgery has passed rigorous written and oral examination in order to practice in this specialty. In addition, search for surgeons in your area to see if they are board certified. If you like what you see on their website, call their office and speak with the staff to see if eyelid surgery is something this surgeon performs. Meet with the surgeon, have an opportunity to ask questions before you make the decision that is right for you.
Best wishes
Eyelid surgery has become one of my most popular procedures. If excess upper eyelid skin is hooding the eye and needs to be eliminated, an incision is made in the crease at the top of the lid and excess fat (if needed) and skin are removed. The incisions are closed and sutured on the underside of the skin. If the skin is obstructing your eyesight, then surgery may be covered by your insurance provider. Lower eyelid puffiness can be improved through a hidden incision making it scarless! This can help address excess fat causing eye bags. I performed eyelid surgery in my fully-accredited operating room. I suggest making an appointment with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.
You would want to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in eyelid surgery, possibly with sub-specialty facial training, and positive reputation for great results. You also want to get a good feeling that you are both on the same page during your consultation with them. Hope you find what you're looking for.
