Finding a resident surgeon

I have lost 150lbs after WLS and have kept if off for 5 years. I have read threads where people are looking for more economical ways to get a tummy tuck and see that it's recommended to reach out to a plastic surgery training program. Who (what position/title) would I reach out to in my area to find out if it's possible to get the procedure for a reduced cost at a residency/training program?

Procedure: Tummy Tuck
Location: Catawba, NC

Another Option is to come to Tijuana, Mexico and have your surgery with an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Feel free to Email you front and side view photos for my advice

Traveling away from home to have surgery may end up being the worst nightmare you ever had, especially out of the country. You need to be close to your surgeon so they can take care of you for any emergency or problem. If you want to inquire about a training program you need to find out if there are any plastic surgery residencies offered near you and then call to find out if they have a discount cosmetic clinic. They may or may not. Cases will be chosen according to the complexity and what the resident needs to do. You probably would be responsible for operating room, hospital and anesthesia charges. The total charges for this may be similar to having this done in a private plastic surgery office. Cosmetic plastic surgery is not cheap and cheap plastic surgery is no good. Make an appointment with a local ABPS certified or eligible plastic surgeon and see what they tell you.

A resident cosmetic clinic is an excellent way to get high quality cosmetic surgery at a fraction of what one would pay going to a private practice surgeon. You will have the comfort of knowing that you have a board certified plastic surgeon supervising the resident performing your plastic surgery. You would have to call Teaching university hospitals in your area as well as medical schools to see if there is such a clinic with the division of plastic surgery at these respective institutions.

Best wishes
