Capsular contracture and mini tummy tuck

What is a mini tummy tuck, and can this be done with a correction procedure simultaneously to correct a capsular contracture after breast implants, or do both procedures need to be done separately?

Procedure: Tummy Tuck
Location: Kinston, NC

There should be no problem having both of these procedures at the same time since you would already be in the O.R. and under anesthesia.

Yes, I do both procedures as an outpatient at same time. The capsular contracture is caused by scar tissue formation around the implant that "squeezes it" and makes it feel firm on outside even though the implant is actually soft. My recommendation would be to send photos for evaluation.

Hi BettyMarie: Yes, these procedures could potentially be done together. In general, in a healthy person, it's reasonable to combine procedures as long as the total time under anesthesia doesn't exceed 6 hours.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question. A mini tummy tuck performs the same aspects as a tummy tuck but typically involves a shorter incision and tightening of the muscles only of the lower abdomen. As for multiple procedures, these two can be done at the same setting. Hope this helps.
