Bad Glue Job

My daughter cut her foot in a brick yesterday and the ER glued it when it should have been stitched, it has been bleeding from under the glue and I’m concerned about the scar and infection. I was told by another ER doctor that once something is glued nothing can be done. Do I have any options?

Contact a local plastic surgeon. The wound edges are not aligned under the glue. Glue can be removed by the plastic surgeon and sutures inserted.

From picture is hard to see exactly what is going , I can see the glue but not exactly the edges of the wound , you can always consult a plastic surgeon in person, the scar can be revised at any time

The glue can be removed and suturing done after refreshing the edges. Refer to a nearby plastic surgeon

You can not say a bad glue job. In the opinion of the treating physician, the thought was that it would cause less trauma to the tissues and patient by using this special glue. Some other physician may have chosen to use small sutures but neither are wrong. It appears the wound consisted of almost a complete avulsion of a small piece of skin that did not have any blood supply and was tacked won as a full thickness skin graft. The chances of this wound getting infected are extremely small. Feet are notorious for slow healing but in small child the chances for good healing are much higher. I would treat this now with a Vaseline gauze or Xeroform dressing in an occlusive manner and not let her run of be on her feet as much as possible. A visit to a local plastic surgeon or general surgeon would help. Doing anything else to this wound now, I would consider the wrong thing to do. Chances of this needing a revision later are ridiculously small. My guess is it will heal just fine in time.

Proper suture repair may be indicated at this point, regardless of the attempt at tissue glue. I would also consider laser therapy and scar therapy (Plato's Scar Serum) afterwards to mitigate scarring.
