Am I botched?

I am 5 weeks post op a breast lift with implants placed under the muscle. My natural tissue sits very low and when I bend over without a bra are still saggy. My implant sits very high in my chest and when I turn to the side there is a visible disconnect from my implant and natural tissue. My surgeon keeps saying give it time for the implant to settle. Second thoughts?

Procedure: Breast Lift

I see what you are saying, however swelling of the pectoralis muscle can give the impression that implants are sitting too high. I agree with your surgeon that you should give things more time. It can take 3 months for muscle swelling to go away.

This double contour or sometimes called "snoopy deformity" is all to common. I NEVER place implants UNDER the muscle when performing a Breast Lift. It is an expected result for the Implants to be permanently heald high by your strong pectoral muscles and for your natural breast tissue to droop over the implants giving this unwanted double deformity. If we place the implants OVER the muscle, if tissue sags over time, Implant AND tissue sag together and not separately.

I agree with a reasonable wait time. Then you can visit your surgeon again and he can determine if he needs to place the implants over the muscle and remove any extra skin (breast lift revision) if necessary at the time. Consult this any other options with your surgeon.

I don't think it has anything to do with under or over the muscles. Some surgeons go under and some on top and thee is nothing wrong with either. Mastopexy-augmentation is a procedure that has a high possibility of complications and needed revisions. It is still very early postop and things will change quite a bit. Your doctor told you right in asking you to wait. Follow your surgeon's instructions.
