Problems with pectoral muscle years after explant

I have terrible pain at the incision site of my implant removal, which was 8 yrs ago. I did some cupping under the right breast to alleviate scar tissue, now have chronic pain, especially under that breast and into my back and ribs. My muscle was not repaired, however, seemed to lay back close to where it was. Is it possible for the muscle to come loose again after scarring down to the chest? Or?

Procedure: Breast Implant Removal
Location: Fort Montgomery, NY

An MRI may provide some insight. If the incision site is a specific location of pain, scar revision may be indicated.

IT is really impossible to render an opinion without seeing pictures and doing a physical examination. There can be many things that may could be the cause of your symptoms.

Please visit with a board certified plastic surgeon for a physical exam and to go over all of your options

The muscle needs to be resutured to its origin.

It is not right to say that the muscle needs to be repaired when the muscle was not torn to start with or without examining the patient. Sometimes there is pain and we can not find a reason for it. Pain at the incision site has nothing to do with the muscle. I would start with making an appointment with a local ABPS certified or eligible plastic surgeon for a complete exam and consultation.
