I want to get a breast augmentation and have a specific look I want to go for, however I’m not sure if it’s appropriate to show my surgeon photos of what I am going for. Is it okay to show photos to surgeon and what kind of photos are appropriate? I know results will still vary
Not a bad idea to bring photographs into your consultation. It helps your surgeon figure out if your expectations are realistic or not.
At times, I have patients that bring in pictures that are very unrealistic to their body.
I have found the best thing is to do 3-D imaging where I can show a patient, a 3-D model generated from their own pictures. What certain implants would look like
Well, not a good idea( if not yours or your mother in case of Rejuvenative Aesthetic Plastic Surgery).
An experienced and skilled Plastic Surgeon knows expectations must be real, and based on an accurate diagnosis: that is during the consultation and after physycal and photographical evaluation( skin elasticity, skin type, tendency to hipertrophic scars and many more factors that may vary from patient to patient.
Patients who “bring” photos of a model or artist to be “copied” or tried to be copied, will be very dissapointed about Plastic Surgery as what we really do is to take a look to your natural features, we also consider your age and even type of work, just to decide the best Surgical Techniques to make the anatomical changes YOU really need for a natural look and longlasting results. The best cumpliment we can have is “”people will see your changes, but those are so subtile that they can not really say “what happened”? The goal is YOU to be the model everybody wants to be.
Anyway, talking about Breast Augmentation, photos can give us the idea of how normal or huge you would like to look. Situations to be considered are : previous pregnancies and good scar biological behavoir. You and your Surgeon will decide the volume of breast implants that may give you the “sex appeal” degree, based basically on a size that is in balance and relation in between your thorax, waist and heaps. That’s the ke for an attractive body, female or male. Good luck! Breast augmentation is one of the most common and grateful procedures we do in Plastic Surgery.
Well . Most of the times, patients bring photos of an actress, blogger, influencer or smt. My observation is, the examples are so varied between them, only mutual speciality is their overall beauty. So this may not express an idea for the surgeon. However, surgeon may understand if the patient want a prominent one or a natural one.
Photos help in letting me know what kind of look you are interested in and the profile of implant that suits your eye. The computer images are a sales tool . They are not reliable for sizing at all
It is perfectly ok to show your surgeons any pictures that you want or ask any questions what so ever. It is more than appropriate and you should not be afraid of the surgeon. A lot of times we can not make you look like somebody else unless you looked exactly like the other person preop and had the same kinds of tissues. The surgeon will tell you if it is feasible or not and what you can expect.
