Platysmal band contracture

Hi, I had a neck lift 3 months ago. I had a hemorrhage and had to go back into surgery. This is what my neck looks like. I know I need to wait for more healing but what can I do about my platysmal band contracture?

Procedure: Neck Lift
Location: Derry, NH

I usually have my patients get neck massages to decrease swelling and soften the scarring. Can’t tell if the bands were cut but I think so you could use some Botox for the rest of platysmal bands. I sometimes use a suture or needle to break them up if someone has had neck lift already.

Often after hematomas, there is scarring within the area of the bleed. The scarring will usually improve with time. I have successfully used very dilute steroids to improve these scarred areas. Your surgeon can contact me for details.

Thank you for this question. I would do lymphatic massages if you have not done so already. Also ask your surgeon about injecting steroid to these areas to soften then up.

You may need a revision but I would wait a minimum of 6 -12 months before a revision. 12 months would be preferable
