Hello and I am a 21 F who is in University to become a teacher, and I have always been bullied because of my chin, I am almost embarrassed to go in public because it’s so bad. Is there any way it would be possible to get surgery when insurance doesn’t cover it?
Cost would depend on the surgery. Photos would help to evaluate the condition. From what you write, I can not determine if you need reduction or augmentation. Please clarify. Costs with us are very low for Students.
Without seeing pictures or examining you it is impossible to determine what procedures will achieve your goals. Regarding costs for surgery, please beware of low cost clinics and clinics abroad where the standards may not be up to the standards of care for safety that we are accustomed to in the United States.
Your best bet may be to get an evaluation at a teaching hospital’s plastic surgery resident cosmetic surgery clinic. Here you will be evaluated by a resident in their final years of training supervised by a board certified plastic surgeon. The costs are much lower and you get quality care.
I see you are in MN, so I would reach out to the depts of Plastic surgery at University of Minnesota or Mayo Clinic to see if they have a resident cosmetic surgery clinic.
Best wishes for a safe surgery to achieve your goal.
