What would roughly be the cost for a category six third nipple removal?
Thanks for your question. This is a procedure that can be done in the office under local anesthesia. Cost for in office procedures vary by region. I would call plastic surgeons in your area to see how much they charge. Your surgeon will also send this to the pathology lab. There will be a charge for that as well, but if you have insurance it may cover the lab costs.

I would have to see you first in a consultation but I would estimate about $450 or so. Please contact my office and I would be happy to visit with you. We might even be able to give a cost estimate with a photo. I do not think a pathology charge would be necessary and it can be done in the office under local anesthesia with minimal discomfort. Remember you will trade the nipple for a scar but it should look cosmetically more appealing.
Removal of anything on the skin (including nipples) is done in the office under local. My billing is by time. If you choose the simplest excision possible (circular with purse-string closure), it will run you around $400. If you choose another method (complex closure or flap closure), cost will go up but $200-$400. Pathology is extra if you choose to send your tissue in for pathology. This will vary from area to area.
