How long does it take to heal after fat transfer to butt?
I tell my patients not to put any pressure on the buttocks for 3 weeks after the procedure which includes sitting. Where the fat is taken from May be sore for several months and swollen as well and this will improve over the course of a few months. Most people are able to resume all of their normal activities by 6 weeks. Best of luck!

Most of my patients can go back to routine activities within a couple of days. I usually advise them not to sit on their buttocks for 2 to 3 weeks. They can use special pillows under their thighs so that they can sit in a chair but they cannot put any pressure on the buttocks. In general most patients can go back to the gym within about 2 to 3 weeks as long as they are not sitting on any machine.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Healing means different things to different patients but most are feeling well within a couple of days of surgery with final results that may be seen 3-4 months after the procedure. It is important to keep weight and pressure off of the areas grafted for at least 6-8 weeks. Hope this helps.
I request that my BBL patient not be on their buttock but only on their stomachs to up and when go to bathroom use some padding for a period of about 1 week. Then, they can use a cushion when driving car. The reason for this is that I want the most fat to remain where I place it and no pressure helps that.
