Thank you for your excellent question. Better to get your specific injector rather than the specialty they trained under. For most, a consultation with a plastic surgeon is recommended as they can offer you surgical and no surgical options at improvement. Hope this helps.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. The short answer is that BOTH plastic surgeons and dermatologists are qualified to perform dermal fillers. You should go with whichever provider you feel most comfortable with. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

That is a wonderful question! I would advise that you go to a plastics surgeon for fillers. We use fillers in an artistic way to rejuvenate the face. We look at facial aging as it affects the face as a whole, instead of just filling a single line or area. Also, plastic surgeons are able to guide you surgically when fillers will no longer achieve your goals.

It is really the experience of the doctor that matters, since dermal fillers are currently being injected by both plastic surgeons and dermatologists. However, a consultation with a plastic surgeon will options that a dermatologist will not be able to offer, such as RFAL which is a minimally invasive procedure based on radio frequency that can improve your face and neck remarkably if you are a suitable candidate. Hope this helps.
