Empty Nose Syndrome

Hi,

I scheduled myself for a rhinoplasty because my nose has been broken multiple times and I really dislike the look of it. The more I read about this ENS, I'm freaked out and don't want my turbinates touched. How do I get in writing and guaranteed my turbinates won't be touched, and can I still get the other things about my nose fixed without turbinate surgery?

Procedure: Rhinoplasty
Location: Scott Depot, WV

At your consultation and pre operative visits your surgeon will go over exactly what procedures are being done and obtain your consent. A procedure that you do not consent to cannot be done legally. If you have a discussion with your surgeon regarding all of your concerns, and it is discussed in detail exactly what procedures will be done before hand I do not think you will have anything to worry about.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Unfortunately without an in-person examination of your tissues it is impossible to recommend a particular set of procedures to help you achieve your goals but discuss your concerns with your surgeon so that they can provide reassurance.
