How long is the recovery period? Can it be done in a doctors office ? Can both arms be done at the same time?

Procedure: Arm Lift
Location: Augusta, GA

Brachioplasty is an excellent operation for removing excess loose skin of the arms. This is done as an outpatient in an office ambulatory surgical center under anesthesia. Most of my patients are back to work in 3 to 5 days. One can not soak or swim for two weeks.

Thank you for sharing your question.ms. A brachioplasty requires an operating room to complete, with both arms addressed. Recovery depends on what activities you would like to return to doing but most patients are feeling much better at a weeks time.

I presume you are talking about a brachioplasty or arm lift. Yes, this can be done as an outpatient like in my certified facility in Miramar, Florida or Newport Beach. The procedure takes about one and half hours and you should refrain from raising your arms too much or doing heavy activity with them for at least two weeks. I have my patients wear armlets to give support to the incisions while healing.

Arm Lift is also known as brachioplasty or arm tuck. It involves surgical removal of loose and excessive skin and fat from the inner portion of the upper arm. Many patients have lost weight, but that is not necessary. Alternative procedures include liposuction or CoolSculpting, but they do not provide equivalent results as Arm Lift.

Both arms are usually done at the same time, typically in a accredited sterile operating facility, which may be part of a plastic surgeon's office. Your recovery depends on your level of activity and occupation, but generally patients return to an office job after one week, resume moderate exercise after three weeks, and wear compression wraps for the first three weeks. Full healing takes a few months, but the overall result is easily visible a 2 months post-op. Be sure to consult board certified plastic surgeons to have all your questions answered.

Brachioplasty or arm lift is done as an outpatient procedure in the operating room. It is usually done under general anesthesia, in milder cases it could be done using a local anesthetic. The recovery is fairly straightforward. You could go to work in two to three days if you do office work. The scars in the inner aspects of the arms are the main drawback, but most people heal very well with a stretch mark like scar.

Thank you for your question. An arm lift or brachioplasty is done in the operating room and both arms are done at the same time. The surgery takes about an hour and a half and can involve liposuction of the arms as well as removing the excess skin and fat. There is typically not much pain after surgery and the recovery is fairly short but I like my patients to wear compression garments for a few weeks after surgery to maximize healing. Hope this helps and good luck with your surgery
