Jaw drooping

I had a tooth extraction about 10 years ago and I noticed that my jaw is looking droopy. I recently got an implant and was wondering if my jaw will go back to normal or would I have to get some type of proedure. Thank you!

You are correct that tooth loss, and associated jaw bone loss can contribute to facial contour changes. After ten years, the implant can restore chewing function and subtly improve appearance, but it will probably not overcome drooping along the jawline. After full recovery from your dental procedure, you would best have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. He or she can assess your condition and make recommendations to give you your best appearance.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question. After 10 years some residual drooping of your jaw soft tissues will be present as a result of bone loss and other age-related changes. I would recommend seeing a series of surgeons in consultation to discuss treatment options to improve any sagging.
