Scaring and loss of pigmentation on areolar

I got a breast reduction last year I’m August 2018. I still have really ugly scaring from my nipples down and under my breast. They are very noticeable and unflattering. I have also lost color on parts of my areolar and they look very patchy and uneven. I’m not sure what I can do about this or if I should contact my Dr. who did my breast reduction to see what can be done.

Procedure: Breast Reduction
Location: San Antonio, TX

I would contact your doctor to make them aware of what your scars and areolas look like. I try very hard to get our patients to heal well and follow them carefully during the first year of their surgery to monitor their healing.

Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately without photographs to help guide recommendations I would see your surgeon for an in-person evaluation and discussion of scar maturation options including silicone creams/sheets, cortisone injections, taping, sunblock, etc. Hope this helps.

My first recommendation is to contact your doctor, since he needs to be aware of the situation and what you're concern about. I hope everything goes well and if you need more guidance please let me know.
