I have a question about breast augmentation surgery with silicone breast implants will they put me sleep doing breast augmentation surgery with slicone breast implants surgery and will i have to wear a sports bra after my silicone breast implants surgery and can i do a marathon race after slicone breast implants surgery
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. For most patients they are put fully to sleep during a breast augmentation procedure and awake with a surgical bra for comfort. Once fully healed you should be able to return to all of your previous activities. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your question and doing your homework with ASPS member surgeons. In general, breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia with the patient all the way asleep. During the recovery process you will be asked to wear a compression bra that may then transition into a sports bra. Recovery will vary for everyone but most people are back to their usual activities by 3-4 weeks and back to more vigorous athletic activities by 6-8 weeks. Marathon training can put some addition stresses on your body so it would be wise to discuss this with your surgeon.
Most surgeons will have the patient receive general anesthesia for breast augmentation. We have out patients wear a sports bra for support in the first few weeks following breast augmentation. Once fully healed, you should be able to resume all activities , including marathon running following your surgery. Discuss all of this with your surgeon so that they can answer these questions directly.
Great question, even in most cases our team uses epidural anethesia, it is possible to use general anesthesia. however is important for you to understand that you will be evaluated by the anesthesiologist prior to the procedure and discuss what would be the best option for you.
Yes, a post surgical bra will be necessary after the procedure
