Is there an age limit for safely having a tummy tuck with lipo? I'm 53 and have always wanted this done since delivering twins weighing both over 8 lbs.
Thanks for your questions. I don’t have any age limits and look at the overall health of a person to see if they are healthy enough for surgery. Thinks like obesity, smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, heart disease may preclude you from surgery. For example, I have patients who are in their 60’s and early 70’s who are healthier than some of the 50 year olds I take care of.
Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to see if you are a good candidate for the type of surgery you seek.

Thank you for the question, many people wonder about the same issue. Age ain’t nothin but a number! But in all seriousness, age itself is not a contradiction. We evaluate each patient regardless of age for conditions that increase risk (like diabetes, heart disease, etc), as well as tailoring the surgical plan for each patient’s goals. My schedule recommendation is to come in for a consultation and make a plan that fits you!
Safety is always my number one concern but if you are in good health then you should be able to have a tummy tuck. Complications are unpreditable but unusual but can occur irregardless of age!
Hi, and thank you for your question.
please feel safe to seek the attention of a certified plastic surgeon, because your age it´s not a limitation for that or any kind of aesthetic procedure. if after evaluations you are clear for surgery, everything should happend with no complication.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. If otherwise a good candidate for surgery, you can certainly have a tummy tuck and liposuction at 53. Hope this helps.
