I have treated patients with well controlled diabetes in the past. You would like have to get medical clearance from your medical doctor . Good luck

Type II diabetes in itself is not a contraindication to cosmetic surgery. Excess weight that contributes to the Diabetes is a more serious question. Best if you get close to your ideal weight before surgery. Controlling the Diabetes to a Hemoglobin A1C below 6.5 and morning glucose below 90 indicates optimal control that I would require before considering a procedure. Good luck...

Thank you for your question. When considering if someone is safe for surgery, we take into account every patient's entire medical history. For diabetes we assess the history, medications, as well as the hemoglobin A1c levels. I recommend that you consult with a plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns and questions. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your question. As with any medical condition it is best to have your diabetes under good control. If you are otherwise a good candidate for surgery, you can certainly have a mommy makeover

I agree with Dr. Larry above. But you do not need to be at your ideal weight. In fact, many patients find their DMII easier to control when the excess pannus has been removed. What your surgeon wants to see is a commitment to controlling your blood sugar and losing weight, so prove it to your doctor that you are trying to do it. You may also need to be done in the hospital with a 1 night stay over so your glucose can be checked regularly by the nursing staff and reported to your surgeon.

As long as you are under control and otherwise in good health it should not interfere with healing though the patients that I have had with diabetes have had a longer healing course as well as the scars have not been the best but they have been happy.

Type 2 diabetes in and of itself does not rule you out for having a mommy makeover. Best advice is to obtain a face to face consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. They will examine you and discuss options. In addition, they will require a note of medical clearance from you primary care physician.

Hi. "Life is most precious than any aesthetic result", that is my practice Leitmotiv, so I recommend you not to risk your health and life being a Type 2 diabetic, for an elective surgery. Meditate about the balance between benefits and risks.
