Is a Redo Possible?

I did my upper arm lift in Turkey some years ago. Unfortunately it was not done properly. Is it possible to redo it

Without seeing you in person, it is difficult to say. Photos would definitely be helpful. Best of luck

the general answer is yes. Was it not done properly as in, not enough skin removed?, or too much removed?, the scar is not optimal?, or the contour is not right? etc. etc.

i encourage you to seek consultation with a well trained ASPS member surgeon to provide you with a proper evaluation and choices of solutions.

Maybe, If insufficient skin was removed and that is your only issue, I would think it can be redone. If the scar is in the wrong place, that is more difficult. If the scar extends down the side of your chest and is forming a tight band that inhibits movement of the arm, then that is a functional problem requiring surgery that would be considered reconstructive, rather than cosmetic, in nature.

It is possible to redo an arm lift, but without more specific information, it is impossible to know if revision will help your situation. Removing additional skin is fairly straightforward and easy to do. Other problems like widened scars or improperly placed incisions may be more difficult or impossible to correct.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. The short answer is that it IS possible to have a revision brachioplasty in many cases, but you will need to be evaluated in person to see if you are a candidate for this surgery. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

I agree with the other physicians, it is best to send pictures for us to assess your situation. A re-do can range from simple scar revision to wide skin excision with liposuction.
