3 surgeries and still in pain

About 4 yrs ago I had an implant rupture, after first replacement ruptured, same doc replaced, capsular contracture was back quick and extreme, he cuts me back open and removes some scar tissue and replaces the implant (same one)..each time done in an “office” and I wasn’t given anything antibiotics and he never gave any alternatives, it’s been back for a year now and it burns/hurts, what do I do?

Procedure: Breast Augmentation
Location: Monroe, MI

More information is needed. Did you have a capsule contracture at the time the implant ruptured? What kind of implant-silicon or saline, smooth or textured? It should be on the card the surgeon's office gave you. Is the implant in front of opr underneath the pectoralis muscle? Do you have a capsule contracture on the other side, or is that breast soft?

There are some missing details, but consider capsulectomy bilateral, and make new pockets in a new location. Find a surgeon who will do it in a hospital or surgery center, with general anesthesia, if your surgeon will not.

Good luck,

Sheree,

Not an uncommon question. Consider starting where you have had your surgery’s. Ask for a copy of your medical record. Focus on all operative reports, pathology reports & breast implant identification materials. These materials & an an examination most likely will be required to answer you questions. Consider taking these materials to an ASPS Member in your area to sort out your concerns and issues. They are experts in Breast Implant Surgery’s. Best,

Sorry to say, but a capsulectomy is not to be performed in an office but in the OR with anesthesia, I use IV sedation plus epidural, and a medical staff assistance. Antibiotics are a must after any surgical procedure.
