How long on average for me to be fully healed and would I be able to enjoy a drink after a month?
Most of my patients are back to work in 10 days. Having a drink in 3-4 weeks. Exercising by 4 weeks with little restrictions.
I usually ask patients to avoid vigorous physical activity for two weeks. Off work for 10-14 days, and no alcohol while using pain medication. It usually takes 2-3 months for the last little tweaky feelings to dissipate and to feel 100% again.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Most patients are able to return to work with in 7-10 days of surgery and can exercise/drink at about 2 weeks. Continued healing and maturation of results will take place for several months thereafter. Hope this helps.
Congratulations on your decision to have breast reduction surgery. Not clear if you had the surgery already or not. I tell my patients to avoid alcohol for two weeks after surgery as it is a blood thinner, it's dangerous to combine with narcotic pain medication and they need to be very careful in general the first couple weeks. Healing begins the day of surgery but exercise, etc will have to wait about 6 weeks. Going back to work is feasible at 3 weeks, depending on your job. Hope that is helpful!
