How long should I wait after primary rhinoplasty until I start having consultations for the second one ?
If the problem is swelling, 1 year.
If the problem is asymmetry, anytime.
You should wait at least a year, if not longer or until the swelling has completely subsided.
agree with dr.gersenshtein ,if the defect is for swelling at least six months if not inmedietly
It depends, how extensive was the rhinoplasty? If it was a full rhinoplasty, 6 months to 1 year due to swelling. It would be best to see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to come up with a plan based on the issues you were having.
No need to delay a consultation.. But proceeding to revisional surgery..... that all depends upon the problem. You should first talk to the surgeon who peformed your initial surgery. There is no harm in consulting with another surgeon at any time following your procedure if you are unhappy with what you heard from your surgeon. Perhaps you just need reassurance and everything is OK. Perhaps an early intervention is appropriate. Hard to say without more information. But if you need a surgical revision, most of us will tell you, and have told you, we would wait for about a year to see what your final result is, and then plan revision based upon that final result. Best wishes and hopefully things will turn out well for you.
Hi. You are being very negative toward rhinoplasty results. You should wait at least from 9 month to a year to allow a complete recovery of the tissues, so that final results may be evident.
Be very careful in not getting into a Michael Jackson's spiral of surgeries, you all ready know where unneeded consecutive surgeries will do to your nose.
Most surgeons would one year before a revision surgery. But it would make sense to start consultations sooner if you are looking for a second opinion. Depending on the issue, one might intervene sooner. Good luck!
Thank you for sharing your question. I would allow your tissues to heal for at least a year before attempting a revision procedure. Hope this helps.
