Hello and thank you for your question.

In my practice, we see patients of all ages and have had patients in the 70's and older receive cosmetic surgery. It would be best to schedule a consultation appointment for an in person evaluation with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine your options and review your health history. Best of luck!

Sincerely,

Dr. Bahram Ghaderi

There is not a specific age cut off, per se. If you are healthy individual you can undergo certain surgical procedures. I have treated several patients in their 70s performing faceliftson them. If you are a good candidate for Tummy tuck it is not unreasonable as long as you’re healthy. You would have to be evaluated In person.

Thank you for your question and doing your homework with ASPS member surgeons. The actual age is not as much a factor as is your overall health. Safety is always paramount so getting the proper medical clearance and preoperative studies is an important part of your preoperative evaluation in addition to consultation with a boar-certified ASPS member surgeon in your area. Best wishes on a great result and speedy recovery.

Age is not a limitation as long as your general health is good. If you have any health issues, then your plastic surgeon may ask you to get a “medical clearance” from your cardiologist or primary care doctor to assure they believe you could undergo a procedure without difficulty. Consult with an ASPS member surgeon to assess your suitability for surgery.

For sure!! Both a TT and facial surgery could be even done together as long as you are in good health. We normallly do get a medical clearance at that age.

Age is not a limitation, your general health is the most important issue. If you are a candidate for anesthesia, you are a candidate for tummy tuck or facelift ( not the same day). It's best to be in a healthy weight range, absolutely no smoking, heart must be healthy and blood pressure well controlled. If you are a diabetic, your A1C level will be important. Work with your i trrbest and plastic surgeon as a team and you will do well.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Assuming you are an otherwise good candidate for surgery you can certainly have both a body and face procedure performed. Hope this helps.

Is it 70 the new 60? If you are healthy and fit without significant medical conditions that would preclude surgery, have reasonable expectations and an appropriate support structure of family and friends to care for you during your postop recovery, go for it. Your plastic surgeon will require medical clearance from your doctor to make sure that you are able to withstand cosmetic surgery without significant risk. Be sure to consult a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Best wishes.
