Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Unfortunately a tummy tuck is deemed "not medically necessary" by insurance companies and would not be a covered procedure. It would be self-pay with prices varying based on type of tummy tuck, geography, and surgeon. You may be a candidate for a puanniculecomty if you are having overhanging skin issues, but this is a much different surgery, with different results, than a tummy tuck. Hope this helps.

Sometimes, if there are well documented medical issues, such as intertrigo or a yeast infection due to moisture under a skin fold, which I think you might be describing, surgery to remove excess skin might be covered. This procedure is called a panniculectomy. The abdomen is not finely contoured as it is in an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck, but rather the excess overhanging skin or panniculus is removed giving relief. You may wish to find out if your insurance company would cover that and then look for a provider who is covered under your plan. Best wishes.

No insurance covers a tummy tuck. Some insurance plans may cover a Pannulectomy which is just amputation of the skin that overhangs the pubic area. Most the time it requires extensive documentation of medical issues and medical treatment for those issues. A full tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is considered a cosmetic procedure and not covered by insurance. This improves the area above the pubic area.
